Since this is the first clothing construction class for many
of you, you will be given instructions and time to assemble the items listed
below during our first class. We will also take accurate measurements and
assist you in choosing the correct pattern size for your body measurements
and make necessary adjustments in pattern pieces during our first class.
Sewing pattern sizes differ greatly from ready-to-wear. Please bring Scotch
tape, pen and paper to class
Pattern: New Look 6463 View b or d (skirt) or New Look 6414
(Pants) Women Sizes 18W-24 use Butterick B4817
Cotton, cotton blend or lightweight wool Fabric according to pattern-Fabric
should be
selected the first night of class. Please do not purchase fabrics with
Lycra, plaids,
stripes or directional prints.
Madeira Aerofil all purpose sewing thread to match fabric
¾” wide elastic long enough to go around your waist
